Silouette in the dusk

After admiring Mt. Fuji from Lake Shoji-ko, I made my way toward the city of Kofu. After crossing the Ubaguchi Pass through its tunnel, I began the long descent toward the Kofu Basin. The sun had gone beyond the horizon.

Then, on a long, straight stretch of road, I saw them. Far to the right, the majestic silhouette of Yatsugatake mountains floated in the dusk, with Mt. Kayagatake standing quietly before it. I was utterly stunned by this unexpected spectacle.
