While I was capturing the Doctor Yellow, a track/overhead catenary inspection train, I heard someone nearby mentioning that the “East-i”, its JR East conterpart, would also be running today. Seizing the rare opportunity, I made my way to the Hokutopia observatory in Oji.
Unlike the celebrated Doctor Yellow, “East -i”doesn’t seem to draw as much of a crowd. With only a handful of us watching, the white-and-red train glided gracefully toward the north, a quiet guardian of the rails.
