With the retirement of the JR-Central’s “Doctor Yellow” at the end of January, I managed to find a moment to go out and capture one of its final runs.
It was a clear winter day. Perhaps because it was a season when the sun doesn’t hit the tracks directly at this spot, the crowd of photographers was thinner than expected. Yet, as the hour drew near, people began to gather in the plaza below.
Right on schedule, the yellow train glided past, heading south for its final Nozomi inspection—a quiet, steady departure for a legend.
